Awesome flashcard app!!

Using app for nursing school & EMT classes Pros: besides the awesome features listed above. I’m impressed that I can import flashcards from Quizlet with no issues; app is easy to maneuver around in and the ability to add your own images to a card is freaking awesome!! Cons: limited to basic font, no options for different color or style of font, can’t highlight

Excellent

Clean and intuitive, this is easily the best flash card application in the app store. It boasts excellent iCloud syncing across all devices, has multiple studying modalities, and a nice algorithmic system that ensures appropriate repetitive review of material. Highly recommended.

Great but could be better

This is actually a great app for those who like flashcard learning like myself. It is very easy to use and wonderful when you use it with iCloud like I do to share between 4 different Apple products. My only criticism is that when you are using the study mode, you cannot edit a card and continue studying. If you like me, you may want to write a note or add to the card while you study. This app does not let you do that. In order to edit you have to close down the Study mode and go to Writing Mode. The problem with this is that you lose all the progress you made during the previous study mode session and have to start over. This is a pain.

This App Is Above My Expectations!!!!

Ok, I have not really used the app, except for the sample deck that comes with it, and a few cards I created as I went through most of the help videos on how to use the app. Overall, I am really pleased with the app. I would love to rate it higher, but it crashed on me three times. I think the problem has something to do with iCloud Drive. I think if the dev(s) recoded the app so that we are no longer presented with the preliminary window it may solve this problem. As users, I think we know how to navigate the Open Dialog window to get to our flashcard deck of choice, and access to the sample card deck could be placed on the Help Menu. I do not choose to be harsh, but I am short for time righ now, and I could not think of any other way to express myself. My sincere apologies! But as I am creating my first deck, I am allowed to nest folders (topics) within folders, which really supports my workflow. But so far, what I really love about this app is the way it allows me to format my cards, as if I were using a word processing app. It’s amazingly similar! The only thing I wish it had was the ability to Quick Look our added images. All of my images are heavily annotated, and it helps if I can use Quick Look to view the details of my annotations on any cards I am studying that have one of my images added to them. Thanks for the app. I did rate it four stars initially, but I remembered about the problem with the crashing issue, so I am willing to update the rating once that is fixed, or at least until I complete my deck and have a more complete user experience when I begin to study it.

Best Flash Card App!

This app is hands down the best. I have been using this app for a couple months now and It is so helpful. Highly recommend!

great flashcard

i love it so far, it sync to my phone and my mac, i can basically just see it anytime that i want to

Best of its kind

I’ve tried most all of the flash card apps out there. This is my favorite. It’s clean and simple. Plus I like the idea of making my own flash cards and not have to jump through a bunch of hoops to keep them private. Best of all there’s no recurring monthly fees. The developer seems to keep this up to date, adding features and fixing bugs.

Very Straighforward

I really love how easy it is to use, and there isn’t much that hinders you from customizing your cards however you want. My only problem is the autocorrect… I have a ton of medical terms and names of microbes that continuously get ‘autocorrected’ but it’s really not a huge deal, just a bit annyoing. Overall, really solid. I did not realize you can generate a link for your flashcard sets to share with people—that’s an awesome feature.

Good app, not worth the price though since the companion iPhone App (separate purchase) doesn’t work

I bought this app after searching for an app that allows you to upload photos and that can be used with an iPhone on the go. Unfortunately, they are both seperate AND rather expensive, but I’d already purchased the Mac version so I caved and spent a little more on the iPhone companion app. As of this review, my MacBook Pro is running OS X 10.11.3, and my iPhone 6 Plus is running iOS 9.2.1 and these two apps aren’t working well together. The Mac version is pretty slick, you can randomize the fronts and backs of cards, add photos, there are three different modes of testing (multiple choice, fill in the blank and memorize) - this app does everything you might need for studying The iPhone App is disappointing, and this was such a big selling point for me. It doesn’t load the flashcards from iCloud for some reason, and it crashes sometimes. The cards you make on the phone disappear as well. If I were to do this again, I’d avoid the iPhone version, and I therefore wouldn’t spend the $8 on this app, even though it works well, it’s pretty expensive for such simple tasks.

FLASHCARD HERO 2.4.1 is working like a Hero!

Recent learning research indicates the most effective strategies for most students are: taking tests and exams, followed closely by flashcards. This version of FLASHFARD HERO is working extremely well on my MACBOOK PRO and my iPhone. Yes, you need to buy both apps to create cards on the MBP, then study them on the iPhone. But, the total cost is cheap for the ability to accelerate learning. If you don’t need or want to use both platforms, just buy one of the apps. Customer support has been prompt when I asked a question. This is now my GO-TO study app.

Okay, but needs some added functionality would be nice

I’m fairly happy with this app, but would be very pleased if certain functions were add. I’d like to have the ability to set the language for each section of the card, for example, Latin letters on one side, and Cyrillic on another. I’d also like to have a section where I could add notes for viewing, but not part of the response when in the study process.
